MARRIAGE STILL WORKS DEVOTIONAL.
Day 15:
MARRIAGE STILL WORKS…WHEN TRUST IS BUILT INTENTIONALLY.
Key Scripture:
“He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much…” Luke 16:10
(Trust is built through consistent faithfulness.)
DEVOTIONAL INSIGHT.
Trust is one of the most vital foundations of a strong and lasting marriage. Without trust, even love struggles to thrive. Suspicion replaces peace, insecurity replaces confidence, and distance gradually develops.
Trust is not built overnight, it is developed over time through consistent actions.
It grows when:
• Words and actions align
• Promises are kept
• Transparency is practiced
Many people think trust is only broken by major issues, but in reality, it is often weakened by small, repeated inconsistencies such as unkept promises, lack of openness, or careless behavior.
On the other hand, trust is strengthened through simple, daily faithfulness.
Building trust requires intentional effort:
• Being honest, even when it is uncomfortable
• Being reliable in both small and big matters
• Being accountable and open
Trust also creates emotional safety. When your spouse trusts you, they feel secure, valued, and at peace.
It is important to understand that trust, once broken, can be rebuilt, but it requires patience, consistency, and sincerity. Marriage flourishes where trust is strong.
REAL LIFE REFLECTION.
A husband developed a habit of coming home later than expected without informing his wife. Though his intentions were not wrong, his lack of communication created concern and suspicion.
Over time, the wife began to feel uneasy. Trust was gradually weakening, not because of a major issue, but because of repeated inconsistency.
When the husband realized the impact of his actions, he made a conscious decision to change. He became more transparent, informed his wife of delays, and followed through on his commitments.
Gradually, trust was restored.
The lesson was clear: trust is not just about avoiding wrongdoing, it is about being consistently dependable.
ACTION POINT. (Love in Practice)
Today:
• Keep one promise or commitment intentionally
• Practice openness in your communication and actions
Build trust through consistency.
TALK ABOUT IT TOGETHER.
What are practical ways we can strengthen trust in our marriage?
PRAYER.
Father, help us to build trust in our marriage through faithfulness and integrity. Teach us to be honest, dependable, and transparent. Let our relationship be marked by trust and security, in Jesus’ name.
CLOSING TRUTH.
Marriage still works…when trust is built intentionally and sustained consistently.
