THE EVIDENCE OF YOUR LOVE.
Ruth 1:16-17
But Ruth said: “Entreat me not to leave you, or to turn back from following after you; For wherever you go, I will go;And wherever you lodge, I will lodge; Your people shall be my people ,And your God, my God.
Where you die, I will die, And there will I be buried…”

Often it is easy to say that you love someone but demonstrating the love you profess may be more challenging than to profess it. The test of love came for Naomi’s daughters in-law when death struck and took their husbands. They wanted to follow Naomi back to Israel, but she told them:…”Turn back, my daughters; why will you go with me? Are there still sons in my womb, that they may be your husbands? (Ruth 1:11) Despite the discouragement of Naomi however, Ruth unlike Orpah insisted on going with her mother in-law, our reference scripture above was Ruth’s response to Naomi. What Naomi told them was the reality on ground but because of the genuine love which Ruth had for her mother in law, she insisted that she would go with her.

The challenge for us in the scripture is: How far can you go with someone you profess love for. In the other way round, will you dissappint someone who sacrificed for you because of love? What of the love you profess for God? The test of your love for God is the extent to which you can go in doing His will. There are husbands who will can not sacrifice anything for their wives whom they profess to love. There are also wives who only profess love to their husbands with their mouths but not in reality. You must understand that Christianity is a love story of God and man.

Anyone who fails to genuinely love is not a good example of the disciple of Christ. May your love for God and others be genuine enough to meet God’s standard in Jesus name.

FAMILY FOCUS. Apart from your love for God, there is no other place that the love you profess will be tested as much as in the family setting. If you love your spouse you must be able to forgive when offenses come. If you love your children, you will sacrifice anything to raise them in the fear of God and in a way that will make them useful for themselves and useful members of the the society.

May you not disappoint God in Jesus name.
