TESTIMONIALS.
I ALMOST LOST THE HELP OF MY LIFE AND MINISTRY.
As I was leaving a program, I offered a pastor who was going my way a lift. As he entered my car, he looked at me and asked me: “Are you not Dr. Oluniyi” I responded in affirmation. He asked the same question two more times. Then he said “God bless you sir”. He also repeated that three times, then explained himself to me.
His home had reached the breaking point as he had already made up his mind to divorce his wife. He had already started going out with another lady.
Then, a minister friend gave him an invitation to Abiding Couples-In-Ministry Conference. While preparing to attend, he planned to take his new lady to the conference but at the last minute, he changed his mind and decided to take his wife along for the fear that others would know that the lady was not his wife.
However when he got to the conference which the theme was HEIRS TOGETHER OF THE GRACE OF LIFE, he heard a statement that changed the perspective from which he was looking at his wife. Before then, he had always been complaining that his wife could not speak good English like the wife of his pastor friends. According to him, he heard me saying:
“Even if your wife can’t preach, she can’t sing in the choir but is giving you peace of mind at home to do ministry, your wife is a very useful pastor’s wife”
When he heard that, he remembered that his wife apart from keeping the home, she is a good intercessor, always praying for the success of the ministry. He realized that if he could recognize this good aspect of his wife, there would be less quarrels at home. He realized that it was because he was always complaining about his wife’s inability to preach with good English that has made him to detest his wife. The matter had got more complicated when he started going out with the new lady who was a leader in the choir of another church.
He thanked me for being used by God to restore his marriage as it was at that conference that he sent a text message to the other lady that the affair was over and he has never looked back since 2014!
He encouraged his wife in his intercessory ministry which eventually improved with time and had brought so many members to his church. He concluded by telling me that he would have ignorantly allowed the devil to make him throw away his God given help away from his life and ministry.
