MARRIAGE STILL WORKS DEVOTIONAL.
Day 24:
MARRIAGE STILL WORKS…WHEN PEACE IS PRIORITIZED.
Key Scripture:
“If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.” — Romans 12:18
(Peace must be intentionally pursued.)
DEVOTIONAL INSIGHT.
Peace is not automatic in marriage, it must be prioritized and protected.
Two individuals with different perspectives will naturally experience disagreements. However, the presence of disagreement does not have to mean the absence of peace.
Peace is not the absence of issues—it is the presence of the right attitude in handling them.
When peace is not prioritized:
• Conflicts escalate quickly
• Emotions take control
• Words cause damage
But when peace is prioritized:
• Issues are handled calmly
• Communication becomes constructive
• The relationship remains stable
Prioritizing peace requires:
• Controlling your reactions
• Choosing your words carefully
• Knowing when to step back
It also involves humility, the willingness to let go of the need to always be right.
A peaceful home is not built by chance, it is built by intentional decisions.
Peace creates an environment where love can grow and thrive.
REAL LIFE REFLECTION.
A couple noticed that their disagreements often escalated unnecessarily. Small issues quickly became major arguments.
They decided to adopt a new approach: protecting peace above winning arguments.
They became more mindful of their tone, timing, and words.
Gradually, their conflicts reduced, and their home became calmer.
Peace improved their relationship.
ACTION POINT. (Love in Practice)
Today:
• Make a conscious decision to protect peace in your interactions
Choose peace over pride.
TALK ABOUT IT TOGETHER.
What practical steps can we take to maintain peace in our home?
PRAYER.
Father, help us to prioritize peace in our marriage. Teach us to respond with wisdom and humility. Let our home be filled with calmness and harmony, in Jesus’ name.
CLOSING TRUTH.
Marriage still works…when peace is intentionally prioritized.
