Marriage Still Works… When Unity is Protected.

MARRIAGE STILL WORKS

Day 19: MARRIAGE STILL WORKS …WHEN UNITY IS PROTECTED.

Key Scripture:
“And the two shall be one flesh…” — Matthew 19:5
(Unity is central to God’s design for marriage.)

DEVOTIONAL INSIGHT.
Unity is at the heart of God’s design for marriage.
Marriage is not just about two individuals coexisting, it is about becoming one in purpose, direction, and commitment.
However, unity does not happen automatically. It must be intentionally protected.
There are several threats to unity:
• Unresolved conflicts
• External interference
• Pride and stubbornness
• Lack of alignment in decisions
When unity is weakened, division begins to take root. And where there is division, progress is hindered.
Protecting unity requires a conscious effort to:
• Prioritize your relationship above external influences
• Address issues early before they escalate
• Maintain a mindset of “we,” not “me versus you”
Unity does not mean you will always agree, it means you remain aligned even when you differ.
When couples are united, they face challenges together rather than against each other.

REAL LIFE REFLECTION.
A couple began experiencing tension because they often involved others in their disagreements. External opinions began to influence their decisions and create further confusion.
Over time, they realized this was weakening their unity. They decided to handle issues more privately and to present a united front.
As they protected their unity, their relationship became stronger and more stable.

ACTION POINT (Love in Practice)
Today:
• Make a decision that prioritizes your unity as a couple
Protect your oneness.

TALK ABOUT IT TOGETHER.
What are some things that may be weakening our unity?

PRAYER.
Father, strengthen our unity. Help us to stand together and protect our oneness. Remove every form of division and align our hearts, in Jesus’ name.

CLOSING TRUTH.
Marriage still works…when unity is intentionally protected.
