Marriage Still Works… When Growth Is Intentional

MARRIAGE STILL WORKS DEVOTIONAL.

Day 20: MARRIAGE STILL WORKS… WHEN GROWTH IS INTENTIONAL.

Key Scripture:
“But grow in grace…” — 2 Peter 3:18
(Growth is essential for lasting relationships.)

DEVOTIONAL INSIGHT.
Marriage is not designed to remain static, it is meant to grow.
Growth is what keeps a relationship alive, fresh, and meaningful. Without it, even a peaceful marriage can become routine and eventually stagnant.
Many couples do not experience major conflicts, yet they still feel disconnected. The issue is often not crisis, but lack of intentional growth.
Growth in marriage involves:
• Becoming better individually
• Improving how you relate to each other
• Strengthening emotional and spiritual connection
It requires humility, the willingness to admit that there is always room for improvement.
It also requires effort. Growth does not happen automatically; it must be pursued intentionally.
A growing marriage is characterized by:
• Learning from past experiences
• Making adjustments where necessary
• Seeking ways to improve continuously
When growth is neglected, decline often follows, even if it is gradual and unnoticed at first.
But when growth is intentional, the relationship continues to evolve and strengthen.

REAL LIFE REFLECTION.
A couple realized that their marriage had become predictable. There were no major issues, but there was also little excitement or progress.
They decided to take intentional steps toward growth. They began learning together, setting small goals, and being more deliberate about improving their relationship.
Over time, their marriage became more vibrant and fulfilling.
They discovered that growth is not about fixing what is broken, it is about improving what already exists.

ACTION POINT. (Love in Practice)
Today:
• Identify one area where your marriage can improve
• Take a small but intentional step toward growth
Don’t remain the same, grow.

TALK ABOUT IT TOGETHER.
What areas of our marriage need intentional improvement?

PRAYER.
Father, help us to grow continually in our marriage. Teach us to improve, learn, and become better partners. Let our relationship flourish and not stagnate, in Jesus’ name.

CLOSING TRUTH.
Marriage still works…when growth is intentional and continuous.
