DON’T DISAPPOINT GOD!
And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.(Gen.2:18)
Dear Pastor’s wife, when God created man, in His divine knowledge he observed that it would not be good for him to be alone. Consequently, he created you to be a help unto your husband. You therefore occupy a very important position in his life, as you were created for a purpose. The purpose for which you were created is that of a helper. A helper is someone that works to ensure that the work given to you is more easily done.
Will you say that in your position as the wife of your husband, you are making the work of ministry to be more easily done by him or it is the other way round? There are so many pastors’ wives that, instead of being suitable helpers, are big problems in the life and ministry of their husbands. Instead of making the work of ministry easier, they are making it more burdensome for their husbands.
However, many do it ignorantly because they neither have the adequate understanding of their position nor know the steps to take to become helpers. When challenges come inevitably, they have the feeling that the challenges are peculiar to them. Because of their ignorance in thinking that the problem is peculiar to them, they handle the problem in such a way as to prevent them from fulfilling the role that God has assigned to them in the life and ministry of their husband.
This work is aimed at reminding those who know their position as helpers as well as making those who don’t know to get familiar with those tests they must not fail if they want to be help to their husbands in ministry. It is also aimed at helping older ministers of God to counsel the upcoming ones as to what is expected of them in their position.
