TESTIMONY.
Wednesday 26th February 2025.
My wife offended me so deeply that I threatened her before leaving the living room, saying I would deal with her decisively. She was upset, heading toward the bedroom while I walked away. Later, as I was preparing to sleep, I prayed:
“My Father and God, my wife has offended me so seriously that I threatened her, saying I would deal with her. Holy Spirit, teach me how to deal with her in Jesus’ name.”
I know this prayer may sound funny to some, but that was how I prayed. The response came almost instantly: “Go and apologize to her.” I knew it was the Holy Spirit speaking to me, and despite my initial hesitation, I couldn’t ignore it. How could I, as a man, threaten my wife and then turn around within minutes to apologize? My pride was on the line. But that’s exactly what I did!
When I approached her in the living room, she was frightened, thinking I might do something drastic. But to her shock, I simply apologized and walked away. She was so confused, not understanding what had just happened, until I later explained the experience to her.
From this, I learned three important lessons:
- If you want to grow in your walk with God, you must seek His guidance before taking any step.
- God is not interested in conflict; He desires peace and resolution.
- Sometimes, you may need to take what seems like a “foolish” step to preserve your home—even if it means apologizing when you’re in the right.
Are you willing to do something “stupid” just to keep your home?
