BE WATCHFUL.
Matthew 13:25
‘But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way’
In our reference scripture for today, the enemy sneaked in to plant tares among the wheat that the farmer has planted on his farm. Life is sometimes filled with surprises, some of which are not actually pleasant because while you are putting your plan in place, the enemy is watching you to see how he may perform his own ministry of “stealing, killing and destroying”(John 10:10). He is so very good at planting his tares because many of us sleep off when we are supposed to be watching.
How then do we watch? Watching means being observant. Being careful to study situations around us and know those ones that should not be encouraged. Are you watchful about the thoughts of your mind, the words of your mouth and little things that you do which doesn’t seem to matter but which you know you should not be doing as a child of God? Through your thoughts, words of your mouth and those you listen to, as well as those little things you do, the enemy may creep in and plant something in your life that you did not have the intention of planting there.
When you discover such, it is better you discipline yourself to stop it before it goes too far. Take for instance immoral thoughts, watching pornographic films or moving with ungodly people in business. It is better you stop yourself immediately before they lead you into what will destroy what you’ve laid out for your life. If you don’t stop any such acts that are wrong, it means you are sleeping spiritually.
May you not sleep for the enemy to plant what will destroy your future in Jesus name.
FAMILY FOCUS.
The beautiful future that you have laid out for your family may be messed up if you are not watchful. How is your family spiritual life? How is your relationship with your spouse? Which company do you and your children keep?
If you are not watchful, some undesirable elements might have crept in before you realize it.
May the LORD help your home in Jesus name.
