FROM WHERE COMES YOUR HELP? (1)

Psalms 121:1-2
‘I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills,
from whence cometh my help.
My help cometh from the LORD,
which made heaven and earth.’

Often, you will hear people complaining that someone that was supposed to help them refused to do so. Sometimes too, a man dies and you see friends and family members promising that they would be like husband to the widow, and like a father to the children. However, go and ask those widows after some years, how far those who promised great things were able to go. Don’t be surprised if the widow tells you that all those who promised big things never showed up.

Our reference scripture for today makes us to realize that it is better to lift up your eyes to God, because He is the only one that has the capacity to help without limitations. Further, that scripture says;

‘He will not suffer thy foot to be moved:
he that keepeth thee will not slumber.
Behold, he that keepeth Israel
shall neither slumber nor sleep.'(Ps.121:3-4)

In other words, he is such a sure help and protection that He neither sleeps nor slumber, even while you are sleeping.

The challenge for you today is to look up to God for your help. It may be a human being that God will eventually use to help you, but it is better when it is God that directs that person to help. When you are able to look to God for help, there will be less tendency for you to look up to human beings.

FAMILY FOCUS.
Let every member of your family be familiar with this scripture;

‘God is our refuge and strength,
a very present help in trouble.’ (Ps.46:1)

May you and your family learn to look up only to God who has the capacity to help you out of every ugly or challenging situation in Jesus name. AMEN.
