THE GOLIATH OF YOUR LIFE IS IN BIG TROUBLE
1 Samuel 17:45
‘Then said David to the Philistine, “Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied”
In the journey of life, there are situations when fighting with the enemy is inevitable. The enemy may come with intimidating credentials like that of Goliath:
‘…whose height was six cubits and a span. He had a bronze helmet on his head, and he was armed with a coat of mail, and the weight of the coat was five thousand shekels of bronze'(1Sam.17:45-46)
He may also come with equipments of war that may be fearsome as described in our reference scripture for today. We must however not be afraid because the warfare equipment that is available to us in the name of the LORD is superior to whatever may be brought against us.
There are three major lessons from this scenario;
(i) we must not fear- David was not afraid.
(ii) we must exercise faith- David believed that the God of Israel is superior.
(iii) we must be bold- David confronted Goliath in the name of God.
Fear is a potent instrument in the hand of the devil to weaken you as a child of God but once like David you believe that God is backing you up in the battle and you confront instead of running away from the Goliath of your life, you can be sure that you will soon find yourself using his own spear to cut off his head in victory.
May that be your portion in Jesus name.
FAMILY FOCUS.
There are difficult situations in your family life which may be about your spouse, child(ren) or the entire home that that may appear like Goliath confronting the armies of Israel. As long as you are bold enough to confront the situation in the name of the LORD.
